Design work is currently underway on the Bay Area Tennis . Com website. Rather than this site being a plain, static page, it will become dynamic, interactive, and much more useful. Work is not expected to be completed until the late Spring or early Summer of 2003. Not all of the items listed below will be immediately available, but should come online in stages.
Below is a listing of our current design plans for the site, along with possible ideas for the future. If you have ideas of your own, or wish to comment on any of the existing ideas, please do so! Send your thoughts and comments to JBondon@BrwnCald.com.
Future planned improvements include:
A Self-Service web based Score Entry system for leagues and events, complete with an automated email notification sub-system.

A self-service method to subscribe & unsubscribe oneself from Bay Area Tennis newsletters and notification emails.

Though sponsorship opportunities are not currently available on our site or at our events, these will be options in the future. We strive, however, to keep our web pages as clean and clutter free as possible, so banner ads will be kept to a minimum.

An online database of tennis courts in your area. This would include both public (parks) & private facilities (clubs). To make this work we will need help from YOU to help keep the database updated.

An online forum for discussing all issues related to tennis in the Bay Area. Email addresses of site members would be kept hidden. The site would be fully searchable. Former site was taken down and will be rebuilt.

A telephone based (touch tone and/or voice recognition) score entry & registration system for those non web savvy tennis enthusiasts!

An automated telephone dialer for notification of tournament start times, etc. Ideally this system could be shared with other clubs on a per use basis.

A "portal" based web page that would aide USTA team captains in scheduling their players, sending emails to members, conducting web based opinion polls, and helping in the overall management of the team roster. This idea has yet to be fully developed. This would be a fee based (nominal one time fee charged to cover setup expenses).

Web hosting for Bay Area tennis clubs & organizations as sub-domains to bayareatennis.com, including web based registration & merchant services (credit card payments, etc.).

Ideally, we'd like to share use of our web based score entry system with other (esp. the smaller) tennis clubs & organizations for their own leagues & events, subject to a nominal setup or maintenance fee. Also subject to establishment of data security & privacy policies.
